Sesame Street was originally created by Lloyd Morissette, who is a psychologist, to provide education to preschoolers. Based on a long-term study conducted by psychologist Daniel R. Anderson, it was found that 3-5-year-olds who watched Sesame Street had more vocabulary during high school compared to other children who did not watch TV at all or watch other programs.
