United States Independence Day falls on July 4. Typically, the moment is celebrated with fireworks, barbecues, and parades. There are several facts behind the celebration of the independence of the United States.  To mark the birth of Uncle Sam’s country as an independent nation, the US people are usually dissolved in the excitement of fireworks, barbecues, and parades. Traditionally, the US independence day, better known as the 4th of July, was filled with speeches from political figures, such as the president. Twelve of the thirteen countries approved the resolution for US independence on July 2, not July 4, where the declaration was actually adopted. New York does not vote until July 9. And many signatories do not attach their names to documents until August 2.

July four is not an official US holiday until more than a century after the country declared its independence. Although the celebration of independence began the following year, July 4 has not been designated a federal holiday until 1870. And in 1941, July 4 became a paid holiday for federal employees.
