Steve Carell played a dual role in this film. As is known, this film presents Gru’s twin named Dru, where Carell will fill the two characters. Even though he was given complete freedom to explore Dru’s character, he also often had problems when filling out the voice.

Mel’s character, the new minion in Despicable Me 3, is described as a rebel figure. He is the minion who leads so that Gru returns to acting like a criminal. Apparently, Mel’s character was also inspired by Chris Melendandri, founder of Illumination and producer of the Despicable Me franchise.

In the world of animation, the name Trey Parker might no longer be foreign. The reason is that he is a very respected figure among Hollywood animators. Parker is the creator of South Park controversy animation. However, in the film Despicable Me 3, he would instead become the voice of Balthazar Bratt, a retro-style villain in the 80’s.

Every 6-8 weeks during the final production stage, the film crew will watch this film thoroughly and discuss each scene in the film. They will evaluate whether the scenes will be emotionally connected or not. The crew is very attentive to every detail contained in the film to be perfect.
